My favourite recipe is Milktart, which is similar to a custard pie. We often made it as a dessert after a nice Sunday lunch or for tea when you expect visitors in South Africa. It is pretty easy to make so disasters with this recipe seldom happen, so try it yourself!
I still make it frequently even though we do not live in South African anymore, and actually have introduced it to many Canadian friends. It’s delicious!
It is a recipe that comes from Dutch origins because South Africa, just like Canada, is home to a mixture of immigrants.
